Frequently Asked Questions

How much does your service cost for domestic odd jobs?

We charge £50 for the first hour, and then £45 for every hour thereafter.

Does this cost include materials?

No - materials are extra. Most customers use us simply as a labour service. However, we are more than happy to buy materials on your behalf if needed. There is an additional cost to reflect the fact that we are using our expertise to select and source the right materials for the job locally. The current charge is 20% over and above the cost of the materials, with a minimum charge of £25. If something is required that is bespoke and can not be returned locally then the full cost of the product muct be paid for in full by the client prior to commencement of the work irrelevant of its cost.

What are your normal working hours?

Our usual working hours are between 8:30am - 4:30pm weekdays. We may sometimes  work outside these hours if requested by the customer but in these circumstances we will add a surcharge of  50% to our normal rate.

When can you be contacted?

We will endeavour to answer the phones seven days a week between the hours of  8:00am-8:00pm. If this is not possible you can leave us a message and we aim to call you back within 24 hours.

Do you provide free estimates?

Generally we can give you a good idea over the telephone of how long a job is likely to take. You can then book us in and when we arrive we will confirm or revise the estimate based on what we find at the job. If it is clearly going to take a lot longer than expected, and you decide not to go ahead, we will not charge you. If you are happy to go ahead with the revised quote, and time permitting, then we will do the job there and then. For larger jobs we can quote a price for the job, rather than an hourly rate.

Do you offer an emergency callout service?

No. Unfortunately we do not offer any form of callout service.

Are you insured?

Yes. Our public liability insurance is up to £2,000,000.

Do you have any GAS SAFE registered engineers?

No. We do not undertake any work with gas. Should you require this type of specialised tradesman then still let us know. We will try our best to source you one that we have worked with in the past therefore still maintaining one point of contact.

Do you have any NICEIC accredited electricians?

No. Our work is basic electrics and replacing existing fittings. Should you require this type of specialised tradesman then still let us know. We will try our best to source you one that we have worked with in the past therefore still maintaining one point of contact.

Will I have to wait in all day?

No. We will try and give specific two hour slots in which we aim to arrive. We will  always call you well in advance to let you know should we fall outside of these time scales. We will inform you of the revised estimated arrival time. If this does not suit you then we will be happy to re-arrange.

How big a job will you take on?

The jobs we do generally range from 30 minutes to a day or two. We do sometimes undertake much larger jobs lasting several days. For larger jobs we can quote a price for the job, rather than an hourly rate. If the job is simply too large we can source a team who can complete the job, thus keeping one point of contact for you the customer.

What geographical areas do you cover?

We currently operate in parts of Surrey and some parts of South West London.

How can I pay?

We accept cash, cheque or BACS. Payment is expected on completion of works to enable continuity of invoicing. If this is not possible then by prior arrangement payment should be made within 7 days. A 50% deposit is required where quotations are greater than £1000.

Do you do commercial work?

Yes. Companies use us to take care of their everyday maintenance needs. Charges vary subject to their requirments. There is no formal account-opening procedure, just give us a call.

Do you charge a cancellation fee?

We do not charge a cancellation fee as long as you let us know before the day of the appointment. If the job is not re-booked we expect to be reimbursed for the cost of any parts purchased plus an additional 20%. If the job is cancelled on the day or the customer is not in then we will charge an attendance fee of £40. We understand that customers do have personal circumstances that could affect the arrangements that have already been made and cancelling and re-booking may be necessary. We aim to be as flexible as possible to show our commitment to you
